ABOUT OUR VIOLIN & CELLO LESSONS
Violin, viola and cello lessons are special at Kingwood Arts Academy. This is because students learn the skills to be well-rounded musicians. Our unique teaching approach to string lessons allows students to develop into excellent musicians through joyful activities. Students learn to become well-rounded musicians by playing music they love, studying with expert instructors, and participating in classes every week. At Kingwood Arts Academy violin lessons are offered as weekly 30 or 60-minute private lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. Our teachers work with violin students ages 5 to Adult, all levels.
VIOLIN & CELLO LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS
Our string instructors love working with beginners, and have experience creating a structured program to help students master foundational aspects such as good posture, bow control and technique, intonation, tone production, note-reading, rhythm, theory, and more while ensuring that the student is having a positive experience and loving their lessons. Beginner students will learn the basics in a positive, fun environment. After learning the intricacies of the different parts and maintenance of the instrument, students then have to learn the proper posture and positioning of the instrument and bow. The basic principles of music theory including notation and rhythmic concepts are then applied to the instrument creating simple pieces that the students can master!

Whether your child is preparing to start violin in school soon, or whether they just want to give one of these beautiful instruments a try, our instructors will help to create a strong foundation. Our expert string teachers are comfortable teaching and coaching all styles of music! The skills and experiences they receive at Kingwood Arts Academy will provide them with a lifetime of musical enjoyment. A variety of methods are used to achieve the basics and make progress on the instrument. Our teachers nurture the student’s love of music through their care and expertise.

Whether you want to be a professional musician or have had lifelong dreams of playing music, you’ll find yourself in good company at Kingwood Arts Academy. Our students spend time each week working on technical skills to improve their sound quality and intonation, along with note reading, rhythm, technique, and expression. Whether students have a busy career, are a busy parent, or are a retired adult, our instructors are delighted to help them learn and enjoy how to play their favorite songs and styles of music.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING AND UNLIMITED MAKE UP LESSONS
Our unparalleled scheduling flexibility is designed to meet the needs of family's busy schedules. We are open 7 days a week all year round (including the summer), and offer unlimited make-up lessons. If you need to cancel your lesson or change your lesson time, we've got you covered! If you're too busy or unable to come in for a make-up lesson, you can request a lesson via Zoom or even request that your teacher create a custom video make-up lesson instead! There are plenty of flexible options for all.
FREE OPTIONAL RECITALS TWO TIMES PER YEAR
Progress equals to happiness. Students and parents can feel progress in a tangible way through our free and optional recitals. Twice a year our students will have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned and show their talent on stage. There is nothing better than performing live to maximize the wonderful experience of music and take the journey to the next level. Participation is always optional.
NO CONTRACTS OR SEMESTER BASED PROGRAMS
We work on a month-to-month basis. Our students have the flexibility to enroll or withdraw from our private lesson studio at any given point depending on whatever is more convenient for them.

Josan is an excellent teacher, with lots of patience and dedication. He is very focused on having his students understanding the proper technique, so they don’t develop bad habits or incorrect positions on the instrument, while still keeping the lessons very fun and dynamic.
