ABOUT OUR GUITAR LESSONS
Kingwood Arts Academy provides the Northwest Houston areas with quality acoustic and electric guitar lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our innovative approach creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere for students of all ages and abilities to find their passion for playing the guitar. All guitar lessons are taught as private, one-on-one music instruction and are available for 30 or 60 minutes. Lessons are available to beginners and self-taught or experienced students in all different styles, such as rock, pop, folk, classical, R&B, jazz, and more. Whatever your goals, our professional music teachers are here to help you and customize a lesson plan.
GUITAR LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS
Our beginner guitar lessons inspire creativity and help develop new students into world-class players with weekly private guitar lessons. Taking classes at Kingwood Arts Academy does not require any previous experience: just come excited to play and ready to learn! Our beginner guitar students of all ages will learn to read standard and tab notation, play melodies and chords, and improvise. All students are encouraged to bring recordings of their favorite songs, band, or players to learn their favorite songs. We aim to foster confidence and creativity in students of all ages through exceptional musical learning. Through the guitar, we promote holistic musical understanding and a genuine love for music.
GUITAR LESSONS FOR CHILDREN
As popular as the guitar is, it is not the most accessible instrument for little fingers. Therefore, we recommend that students be at least six years old before starting guitar lessons and that the appropriate size guitar is purchased – either a 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4 nylon string. We strive to make guitar lessons fun and engaging for younger students by adding games, exercises, and songs suited for young kids. Our classes are strategically planned to cover all basic guitar techniques. Students will learn some fun, popular songs along the way. We teach young folks how to create good tone, understand and maintain a steady beat, play rhythm, hear and follow musical form, and be musically creative! The approach is joyful and accessible.
GUITAR LESSONS FOR ADULTS
We offer guitar and bass lessons on electric or acoustic instruments. We make it a priority to tailor how we teach and what we teach to your individual needs. Whether you like to jam out to rock, pop, jazz, blues, folk, bluegrass, or any other music, we can make you sound your best. Regardless of your background and goals, our guitar instructors love working with adults and know how to make lessons comfortable and rewarding. Our guitar teachers understand that every student has personal musical needs and goals. Teachers can tailor lesson plans around your learning style while teaching songs that you will enjoy learning and practicing at home. Guitar teachers will have the advantage of knowing which songs to choose at your skill level.

Josan is an excellent teacher, with lots of patience and dedication. He is very focused on having his students understanding the proper technique, so they don’t develop bad habits or incorrect positions on the instrument, while still keeping the lessons very fun and dynamic.
