Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University, where he graduated Cum Laude with an emphasis in violin in the studio of Javier Pinel, and he is completing a Master's degree in Violin Performance at the University of Houston under Kirsten Yon. He served as Concertmaster of the SHSU Symphony and has performed with the Conroe Symphony Orchestra, The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, the Texas Music Festival, and the Texas Renaissance Festival, and he brings extensive early music training through the Boston Early Music Festival, the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival, and the viola da gamba ensemble Les Touche. His teaching experience includes serving as Interim Head Orchestra Director at Miller Intermediate Performing and Visual Arts Academy, leading violin master classes in Deer Park ISD, teaching private lessons in Alief ISD, and student teaching with string ensembles in Humble ISD. He has passed the TExES Music Content EC-12 exam and was named a Collegiate Music Scholar in 2024. At Kingwood Arts Academy of Music, Matthew teaches violin, viola, cello, piano, and guitar.
